Cycle 2023

The vessel holds; what it holds can be open for interpretation. Does it hold liquid or grief, tea, a baby, or hope?

Cycle references the loss of a personal cycle (from the removal of a uterus) but a reconnection to a universal cycle—celebrating/mourning the felt changes in the artist’s body and identity. These vessels, all slightly different, are made of clay embracing tactility and its age-old relationship to the connection of body and earth, returning the artist’s story to the universal story of life and death and our place within it
